Laboratory of Material Technologies Faenza
The ENEA Laboratory of Material Technologies Faenza (TEMAF) conducts R&D and engineering activities, mainly in the field of advanced ceramic and composite materials (CMC, PMC), for several applications: energy production, energy recovery, transports, aerospace, biomedical, construction, chemical and manufacturing industries. In particular, the main activities concern:
- research and development of structural and functional ceramic materials (monolithic, composite and coatings) and related production processes up to the creation of prototypes
- research and development of innovative composite materials with a polymeric and/or preceramic matrix with characteristics of recyclability and fire resistance
- engineering of innovative components and technological transfer of production processes, also based on 3D printing technologies (LDM - Liquid Deposition Modeling, DLP - Digital Light Processing)
- thermomechanical characterization of materials and component qualification
- microstructural and physico-chemical characterization of ceramic, composite and metallic materials.
Since 2015, the Laboratory of Material Technologies Faenza (TEMAF) belongs to “Sustainable Material Technologies and Processes Division” (PROMAS) related to the “Territorial and Production Systems Sustainability Department” (SSPT).
